SHC suspends transfer order of SEPCO official

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday suspended the transfer of order of director Human Resources Sukkur Electric Supply Corporation (SEPCO) Tariq Majeed and issued to notices to Deputy Advocate General and others.

Tariq Majeed filed a petition in SHC in which he named Secretary Water & Power, MD WAPDA, SEPCO Board of directors as respondents.

The petitioner pleaded the court that he was appointed in 1986 and he was serving as director HR of SEPCO till 13th August 2015. Later Secretary Water & Power transferred him to Jamshoro on 13th August.

The petitioner submitted in his petition that Secretary Water & Power has no power to transfer any person belongs to SEPCO. It is the Board of directors’ job to transfer him to anywhere, he pleaded the court.

He prayed to the court to declare the impugned transfer order and restore him on his old position.

SHC bench took up the petition and issued notices to Deputy Advocate General Sindh and other respondents to file their comments on 31st August.
