SHIKARPUR: Rallies taken out to mark Sindh Culture Day

SHIKARPUR: The rallies to mark Sindhi Cultural Day were taken out with enthusiasm here on Sunday.

People all over Shikarpur district on this occasion expressed their feeling of unity by wearing Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to show their love and affection with their culture.

In this regard, a Jazba Festival was organized at C&S Degree College Shikarpur. Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Abid Saleem Qureshi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Separately, Muttahida Quami Movement, Pakistan People Party Parliamentarian, Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz, Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Shaheed Qayoom Mangi Welfare Organization, Sumbara Scouts Shikarpur, Sindh United Party, various social organizations, schools, Press Club Shikarpur and colleges throughout district joined the celebrations. Towns were decorated with Sindhi Ajrak to highlight the cultural values of Sindh.

The people, including Abdul Ghaffar Sethar, Sakhi Dad Marri, Abdul Razzaq Lakho, Siraj Ahmed, Abdul Sami Bilali, Danish Hyderi and others participated the cultural events by wearing Ajrak and Sindhi Topi (cap), which are regarded as identities of the Sindhi culture and a symbol of the Indus Valley civilization.

On the call of Sumbara Scouts, a rally was held which commenced from Lakhi Gate Clock Tower to Allah Wala Chowk. It was led by Haji Shaukat Ali Baloch founder member of Sumbara Scouts. The rally participants prayed for the prosperity of Sindh and people of Pakistan.
