Sindh assembly demands cut in oil prices

Karachi: Sindh Assembly here Monday demanded cut in oil prices so that to transfer the benefit of the massive reduction of oil prices globally to the masses.

In a joint resolution brought as supplementary business, moved by Nisar Ahmed Khuhro of PPPP and Mohammad Hussain Khan of MQM, the resolution said that this assembly resolved and recommends that the Sindh government should approach the federal government to transfer the benefit of reduced oil prices in international market to people of Pakistan. The resolution was passed unanimously with any further speech.

A delegation of the parliamentarians of Punjab, KpK and Balochistan assemblies visited the Sindh Assembly. The speaker, chief minister, all parliamentary party leaders and women MPAs Rubina Qaimkhani (PPPP), Shahida Baloch (PPPP), Khairunnisa Mughal (PPPP), Irum Azeem Farooque (MQM), Nusrat Bano Seher Abbasi (PML-F) and Dr Seema Zia (PTI) welcomed them. On the suggestion of the speaker that the assembly members would have a meeting with the delegation, the minister of parliamentary affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro moved a motion to defer the rest of agenda (Agenda item V to IX) to Wednesday, and the speaker adjourned the House to Tuesday, Feb 2, 2016 at 10:00am.
