Sindh Education Employees Alliance continues protest against secretary

KARACHI: Sindh Education Employees Alliance (SEEA) on Tuesday continued a protest and sit-in on the fourth consecutive day outside the Karachi Press Club for removal of Education Secretary and Literacy Department, Fazlullah Pechuho and demanded to fulfil their demands.

In the movement entitled “Secretary Hatao Taleem Bachao” (remove secretary save education), the protestors, carrying placards and banners, raised slogans against the secretary and blamed him for causing injustices with education employees.

Talking to reporter, SEEA President Sikandar Ali jatoi said the secretary education had considered the government department as his personal property. He said that since Pechuho took charge of education department as secretary, 2600 schools in Sindh had been closed. He criticized the secretary for handing over Sindh’s schools to NGOs on contract basis, which is severely affecting the education of poor child. He said the candidates who passed tests in 2010 and were posted as PST, JST and HST are not being regularized. He said the teachers serving in the department since 20 to 30 years are not given promotion orders.
