Sindh shuttlers Palwasha, Mahoor honoured

Karachi: The national badminton champion Palwasha Bashir and the finalist of singles event at national championship Mahoor Shehzad were honoured by the Sindh Badminton Association (SBA) during a ceremony here at Sunset Club.

Both the players including former champions Sara Khan were presented shields for their performance by the chairman of SBA Aftab Iqbal.

“Everyone will have to take individual step to bring back the glory of this sport like these two players have done,” Aftab said on the occasion.

The CEO of Omar Associates Nadeem Omar while presenting the cash awards to the players said that more sponsors should come forward to support badminton players, who have the potential to shine in international arena.

“We cannot rely on the government anymore. We have to take steps ourselves and support the players who have talent to do something for their country,” he said.
