Sindh to assist NHA in carrying out Karachi-Lahore motorway project

KARACHI, Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has advised the Board of Revenue and Works & Service Department to extend full cooperation to the National Highway Authority (NHA) with the specific reference of Karachi – Lahore Motorway being constructed by the Federal Government with a view to provide a road network of international standard to the people.

He expressed these views, while presiding over a high level meeting, on Tuesday in his office, which was attended by the Chairman NADRA Shahid Tarrar, Senior Member Board of Revenue Malik Asrar Hussain, Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Muhammad Waseem, Secretary Works & Services Qazi Shaid Parvez and other senior officers.

It was briefed that the total length of Karachi – Lahore Motorway is 1147 Kilometres of which 528KM situated in Sindh Province, while total land in Sindh required 10,888 acres and cumulatively 25,425 acres needed for the whole project of motorway.

The Chairman NHA informed that preliminary proceeding is being accomplished in first week of July 2014.
