’Sir Syed Tower will prove to be an important centre’

KARACHI: Engr Mohammad Adil Usman, President Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) and Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) said on Monday that with remarkable development in the fast pace world, Sir Syed University is making marks with outstanding achievements in academic sector.

“In short span of time, four new technologies were introduced and now students are learning their skills at campus in 10 disciplines. Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, known for good quality education, is a progressive institution that looks forward to meet the requirements of prudent technical education and practices,” he said while addressing the Eid Milan ceremony, organized by AMUOBA).

Highlighting the achievements of the Association during his tenure he said: “Construction of Sir Syed Tower is like a dream come true for Aligarians and despite all hurdles, we planned for two basements plus first floor in initial stage and started its construction with our own resources. The work of basements is almost complete. Sir Syed Tower is the great source of historical value as an academic hub for the promotion of educational and creative activities. All the earnings of Sir Syed Tower will be invested in the promotion of education and developing academic institutes.”

Usman urged the philanthropists and riches to come forward with monetary support to complete 15-floor Sir Syed Tower. He also appealed to the Aligarians to take active participation in Association’s activities to motivate the youth and guide them to carve new venues of progress.

On this auspicious occasion, eminent poets Khawaja Razi Haider, Tariq Sabzwari, Anwar Azmi and Rehman Khawar from Canada enthralled the audience with their beautiful poetry.
