Sir Syed University introduces 4 new technologies

KARACHI: President Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, Engr Mohammad Adil Usman has said that the Association has achieved commendable success for securing it objectives, and pursuing Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s mission we have laid foundation stone to a grand project ‘Sir Syed Tower’ that would contribute significantly to both knowledge acquisition and knowledge creation.

Addressing the Annual General Body Meeting he said, “It is like a dream come true. Sir Syed Tower would be the great source of historical value as an academic and corporate hub for the promotion of intellectual, cultural and creative activities. It is a continuation of the success and accomplishment of Sir Syed’s Mission. Although we have provided initial funds to start the construction of the Tower, yet we require more funds to complete the mega project and definitely need monetary support from the philanthropists for the divine cause.

Engr Mohammad Adil Usman, President AMUOBA, pointed out, “I believe in one thing that if you take first initiative to start a project with good faith, God will necessarily help you to complete the project. Now I have a strong feeling that Sir Syed Tower and all of our projects and plans will be completed without any hurdle within the given time frame.”

Sir Syed University introduced 4 new technologies i.e. Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Architecture and Bioinformatics. Construction of the 8-storey Nizami Hall is in the final stage. This year around 1327 students were conferred degrees. The amount of 2 crore, 91 lakh, 24 thousand and 9 hundred was given to 1561 students in terms of scholarship and financial assistance. Latest books of science and technologies were added to the library and around 30 lakh rupees were spent on books’ purchasing. Presently the library has about 75 thousand books in stock. Moreover, internship was arranged for 2130 students.

Earlier the AMUOBA’s General Secretary Mukhtar Ahmed Naqvi presented the Association’s Annual Report highlighting the successes made towards the achievement of its targets. The meeting approved the minutes of AMUOBA’s previous AGM. The Treasurer SSUET, Salman Sualeh presented the audited accounts of the Association.
