KARACHI: Six persons were killed and a woman was injured in separate violence incidents here on Wednesday.
A senior lawyer, Ali Hasnain Bukhari and a member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Legal Aid Committee, was targeted and killed by unknown motorcyclists outside his residence in Korangi this morning. He was pursuing several cases of the party’s missing persons.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. However, the police arrived at the murder scene and collected evidences.
In response to his colleague’s murder, legal fraternity boycotted the proceedings of Sindh High Court, City Court and Malir Sessions Courts.
Yet in another incident, a man, Ali, 35, son of Sattar, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Farooque Plaza in Korangi town area. The body was brought to the JPMC for an autopsy.
Separately, a man, Faheem, 32, son of Shamsuddin, was killed in a mob attack in Sakhi Hassan area. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.
Reason behind the killing could not be ascertained yet.
Meanwhile, a newly born baby was found dead in Gulshan-e-Iqbal within the limits of Mobina police station. The body was shifted to Edhi morgue.
Furthermore, Dr Fayaz, spokesperson of Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat (ASWJ) Sindh, and Mohammad Arif, 33, were gunned down by unknown armed men near Paracha Chowk in Shershah area. The bodies were shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities.
Moreover, a woman, Shabana, 40, wife of Iftikhar, was shot and injured during robbery resistance in near Maria Flat in Nagan Chowrangi. The injured were rushed to ASH for treatment.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sharah-e-Noor Jahan police station verified above incident and further added that bullet hit in her leg.
