SM Munir accused of interfering into FPCCI affairs

KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Fahmida Jamali on Sunday accused Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chairman SM Munir of interfering into FPCCI affairs.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Fehmida alleged that SM Munir had insulted her and threatened to ban her entry into FPCCI office, besides using unethical language against her. Fehmida said that she had rendered great services for the Federation and is the founder of Balochistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, but despite it, SM Munir’s behaviour with her is intolerable.

She appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir to conduct investigation in this regard and take action against him. Businessmen Group leaders said that SM Munir had dual nationality, so he is not eligible to be TDAP chairman. They demanded of prime minister to take action against SM Munir and remove him from TDAP.

They said that SM Munir has been interfering into FPCCI affairs despite having no authority. Any civil servant can not interfere into the affairs of Federation. Islamabad High Court had also stopped him from interfering into FPCCI affairs, but he defied the court order and continued interfering in the Federation.
