Soon academic session of Women medical college Mardan will be started, CM

Peshawar: Announcing commencement of academic session in under completion Women Medical College, Mardan in near future, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that his government was according top priority to education of female youth in a bid to improve their social and economic status and enable them to play their vital role for the nation building.

He said that completion of the first ever and modern technical university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also at final stages adding that the provincial government was seriously focusing on investing in our youth to ensure conscious transformation of the whole socio-economic system.

Speaking as chief guest at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar Thursday, the Chief Minister also announced construction of a new academic block and auditorium, establishment of sanitation system, provision of all sport facilities including a gymnasium and provision of gas for the university as well as reconstruction of the Larama road that leads to the university from Charsadda road.

The function was held for signing MoU among nine women universities of Pakistan for their collaboration and partnership in the field of academics, research, administration, training, publication, funds acquisition and exchange of faculty and staff etc.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education and Information, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and Vice Chancellor of SBBWU Dr. Razia Sultana also spoke on the occasion. The provincial Minister Mian Jamshed ud Din, Special Assistant to Chief Minister, Mian Khaleequr Rahman, MPA Mahmood Jan, vice chancellors of the partner women universities, the faculty members and students also attended the ceremony.

Appreciating the collaboration between the women universities, the Chief Minister said that the initiative was exactly in line with manifesto of the present ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whereby gender equality and women’s central role for shaping a more democratic, peaceful, stable and developed society was being more focused than other measures of social and economic uplift.

Acknowledging the role of educated women in the progress and prosperity of the country, he said that our policies and governance system places women at the forefront of social and economic reconstruction activities in the nation building process.

He said that investment in energetic and zealous youth is the key solution to our problems but unfortunately they had been left without any direction in the past despite the fact that a large number of them were capable, devoted, dedicated idealists and fond of work.

Mr. Khattak told that his government has enacted numerous laws to create awareness among the masses, for their rights, guaranteed transparency, justice and merit at all levels, and ensure good governance to avoid malpractices and establish efficient public service system.
