Special Assistant visits Moenjo Daro

LARKANA: Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister for Culture and Tourism Sharmila Farooqi has said that riding bikes and throwing liter at the site of Moenjo Daro has been banned.

Talking to media here on Monday, she said ban was imposed to visit these ruins due to heavy monsoon to save the site from damage but now this ban has lifted.

She also visited Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Library and inspected the facilities available there from the students.

She said an Ajrak Club project is under way and work on city museums in Shikarpur & Khairpur is also going along with Sukkur Cultural Complex

She said that encroachments over historic Lakhian Jo Daro ruins in Sukkur have also been removed.

Later she inaugurated Shah Abdul Lateef Art Gallery and Museum established in Arts Council of Pakistan here.

Commissioner Akbar Laghari, Secretary Culture Dr. Niaz Abbasi, Special Secretary Abdul Karim and others were present.
