Special athletes off for Brunei Darussalam for Bocce Competitions

Karachi: Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) has sent an eleven-member delegation to participate in the 5th SOAP Bocce Competitions, which have commenced on December 3 in Brunei Darussalam.

Pakistan’s delegation is headed by Arshad Javaid, National Sports Director. Head Coach Mansoor Khan from Scinosa School and athletes Aarish, Muhammad Ahsan and Sana Rehman are selected from Karachi.

Coach Amna Yousuf, athletes Rimsha Naeem and Usama Mahfooz are selected from Islamabad and Faiqa, Usman Shazad and Rabia Iqbal, a unified partner will represent Lahore.

A total of 56 athletes from seven teams namely – Brunei ‘A’, Brunei ‘B’, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia ‘A’ and Malaysia ‘B’ are set to compete for top honors.

A total of five categories will be contested in the four-day event. The categories are singles, doubles, doubles unified, team event and team unified. The competitions will be held at the Police Stadium in the Royal Brunei Police Force headquarters in Gadong.
