KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that a special desk, where complaints could be registered by children and parents against cruelty, violence and harassment against children, had been set up at Rescue-1299 of Commissioner Office.
“Immediate actions would be taken to resolve the complaints, while registration of FIR in police stations regarding children issues would also be cooperated,” he said on the occasion of World Children Day at his office.
President Roshni Welfare Organisation Muhammed Ali, Coordinator Social Welfare Department Sindh Nuzhat Fatima, Director Planning and Development Commissioner Office Syed Muhammed Shakib and other relevant people and a large number of children were also present.
The children expressed their reservations regarding selling of betel nuts, gutka, sheesha parlors and other unhygienic things in and around educational institutes.
Siddiqui said children were the hope, future and asset of Pakistan. Children were not just the dream of their parents but country as well.
He directed all the assistant commissioners to visit their areas and ensure closure of selling of unhygienic things.
