Karachi: Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) on Monday announced preliminary list of pugilists for the second phase of national camp ahead of important Asian Games, to be held in Incheon, South Korea.
After the conclusion, Velo Cup National Ranking Boxing Championship Islamabad in Islamabad last week, PBF short-listed a total of 25 boxers. The camp will start from July 2 without any break till Eid-ul-Fitr.
Ali Akbar Shah Qadri will be camp commandant while Zaighum Maseel of Navy and Sajid Raja of PAF will be coaches. One more coach will be announced by Army soon.
Secretary PBF Mohammad Akram Khan has asked all concerned associations and departments to direct their respective boxers to report at Pakistan Sports Board Sports Complex, Allama Iqbal Hostel in Islamabad on July 2.
Short-listed boxers: 49 Kg: Jahanzaib Khan (Sindh), Mohammad Hasnain Irshad (Army), Allah Rakha (Punjab). 52 Kg: Syed Mohammad Asif (Balochistan), Mohammad Nisar (Navy). 56 Kg: Aamir Khan (Navy), Farhan Mehmood, Niamatullah (PAF). 60 Kg: Sheraz (Navy), Fahim Ahmed (PAF), Mohsin Khan (HEC). 64 Kg: Qadir Khan (Navy), Suleman Baloch (Army), Adnan Hassan (PAF). 69 Kg: Munir Ahmed (Navy), Adil Khan (Army), Arshad Hussain (PAF). 75 Kg: Zulqarnain (Army), Tanveer Ahmed (Navy). 81 Kg: Owais Ali Khan (Army), Mirza Azam (PAF). 91 Kg: Atif Mehmood (Army), Babar Ali (Army). 91-plus Kg. Abdul Wahid Kakar (H.E.C.), Waqar Ahmed (Army).
