Sports: Cricket: Afghanistan disabled team arrives in Karachi

Karachi: A sixteen-member Afghanistan Disabled Cricket Team led by Abdul Nabi arrived here on Thursday to feature in first International Disability Cricket Series against Pakistan.

The two teams will play three T20 and two One-Day International matches from February 22 to 27 February here at National Stadium Karachi.

The team was received by Secretary Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) Amir Uddin Ansari, Joint Secretary and Media Manager Mohammad Nizam, Members of Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) Owais Thanvi, Abdul Karim Adia, Khawar Muneer, Zeeshan Siddique and Rameez Ghaziani.

The Afghanistan squad comprises of Nabi Ullah (Captain), Hasib Ullah (Vice Captain), Obaidullah, Khanzada, Jamil Khan, Ashraf, Jahanzaib, Mohammad Yousaf, Sangar, Mohammad Farid, Sherin, Eidullah, Ikramullah, Mohammad Nazeef, Shafiq Samim, and Fazal Rehman.

Abdul Manan Masood (Head), Sayed Rehman (Coach), Jalil Khan (Manager) and Irfan Gardiwal (Media) are the team officials.

Meanwhile PDCA selection committee has announced two separate teams for the series.

The T20 squad consists of Hasnian Alam Captain, Rao Javed Vice Captain, Matloob Qureshi, Arif Richard, Ashfaq Ali, Jahanzaib Tawana, Danish Ahmed (WK), Sadeem Baig (WK), Farhan Saeed, Abdullah Ejaz, Rehan Ghani Mirza, Abdullah, Abdullah Afridi, Fayyaz Ahmed, Ameer Ahmed and Iqbal Hussain.

Meanwhile, the ODI squad comprises of Hasnain Alam Captain, Rao Javed Vice Captain, Matloob Qureshi, Altaf Ahmed, Jahanzaib Tawana, Danish Ahmed (WK), Abdullah, Rehan Ghani Mirza, Abdullah Ejaz, Fayyaz Ahmed, Ameer Ahmed, Arif Richard, Mohammad Ameer (Quetta), Mohammad Kalam, Umaiz-ur-Rehman and Raja Qaisar.

The team management comprises of Sabih Azhar (Head Coach), Iqbal Imam (Assit. Coach), Tahir Mehmood (Fielding Coach), Qamber Ali (Trainer), Saleem Hussain (Physio), Dr. Noman Palikar (Team Doctor) and Shakir Khilji (Team Analyst).
