Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Club and Alamgir Gymkhana cruised into the semifinals of KCCA President Cup Cricket Tournament after beating Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club and Nazimabad Gymkhana respectively.
Pakistan Cricket Club beat Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club by 130 runs at TMC Ground. Pakistan CC batting first scored 296-4 in 45 overs. Mohammad Waqas batted brilliantly for the side scoring 110 runs. Ali Asad (67 runs) and Shaharyar Ghani (64 not out) batted well for the side.
Mohammad Hussain CC in response scored a paltry total of 166-10 in 43.1 overs. Mohammad Sami (50 runs) batted well and top scored for the side. Captain Adnan Kalim took a four-wicket haul for Alamgir Gymkhana.
Alamgir Gymkhana beat Nazimabad Gymkhana by 4 wickets at Nazir Hussain Gulberg Ground. Nazimabad Gymkhana scored 192-10 in 43 overs. Athar Abid (65 runs) and Farhan Iqbal (52 runs) batted well for the side. Faraz Ali and Bilal Manzoor captured three wickets each.
Alamgir Gymkhana reached the target with four wickets in hand in 34.4 overs. Ahsan Ali (71 runs) and Faraz Ali (61 runs) played pivotal role in team’s triumph.
