ISLAMABAD: Farooq Ali won National Disabled Badminton Championship held here at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex. Mr. Abdul Rauf Alam, Chairman, Founder Group, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce was the Chief Guest and gave away the medals and trophies to winner up and runner up players, says a press release issued here on Sunday.
Chairman, Sheikh Abdul Waheed, Secretary Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, Information Secretary, Rana Tanveer,Chief Patron Baser Daud, Secretary General, Pakistan Boxing Federation, Mohammad Akram Khan, Deputy Director General, Agha Amjadullah, Assistant Director, Malik Imtiaz Hussain, Finance Secretary, Naveed Malik, Chairperson Women Wing, Niana Ali, and a large number of peoples were also present on the occasion.
In the men singles final Farooq Ali beat Zeeshan by 21-12 and 7-4(retd) while in the final of men double title Farooq Ali and Qaiser defeated Hafiz Mujtaba and Hamid 21-7 and 21-19.
In the semi final competition of men singles: Farooq Ali beat Rana Waqas by 21-5 and 21-8 in the first semi final while Zeeshah Gohar defeat Mujataba by 17-21, 21-19 and 21-19. In the first men double semi final, Rana Hamid and Hafiz Mujataba beat Zahid Mqabool and Irfan Gohar by 21-11 and 21-16 while Farooq Ali Khan and Qaser defeated Simon and Saif Doger by 21-17 and 21-15 in the 2nd semi final. Agha Saud, Waqas Aslam and Ali Chishti were supervising the matches. 40 players from all over the country took part in the championship.
