’Sports For Life’ Boys Swimming Championship to be held on Saturday

Karachi: The inaugural ‘Sports For Life’ Boys Inter School Age Group Swimming Championship 2015 will be held here at Habib Public School (HPS) from Saturday.

The event has been organized in association with Karachi Swimming Association (KSA). At the time of final closure, over 100 entries were received from 13 teams, namely, Bayview Academy, Beacon House Schools Systems, Dua Swimming Club, Foundation Public School, Froebel Education Centre Junior, Froebel Education Centre Senior, Generations school, Hosts Habib Public School, Houz- e- Sabha, Karachi Gymkhana Club, KN Academy, Moin Khan Academy and Saint Michaels Convent School.

The championship is exclusively arranged for schools but the children, who have been left out, were allowed to fill entries from their respective clubs, institution and academies.

Separate trophies will be awarded to winner and runners up of schools and clubs.

There are four age groups. 10 and Under (born in 2005 or after), 12 and under (2003-2004), 14 and under (2001-2002) and 16 and under (1999-2000).

The events are free style, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly stroke, individual medley and relays.

Points system will be same as used in Pakistan nationals events namely for first six places – 15, 10, 6,4,2,1 and double points for relays. All six positions will also get certificates.

Medals will be for first three positions and the swimmer with most points in each category will be awarded Group Champion Shields.
