Sports: Kabbadi: Pak Kabbadi skipper vows to perform in India

Lahore: Pakistan Kabbadi team skipper Shafiq Ahmed Chishti on Monday said that the team would perform well in the upcoming Kabbadi World Cup to be held in India next month.

“This event is of utmost importance for us and we will not disappoint the nation,” Shafiq told media at the national kabaddi training camp underway here at Punjab Stadium.

Shafiq, who also led Lahore Lions Kabaddi team in some of World Kabaddi League (WKL) matches, told that the preparations of national Kabaddi team were going as per our plan and we are quite satisfied with our training for the grand event.

“We are enjoying best training facilities at the training camp. Our boys are being trained by the top class coaches and trainers of the world,” he said.

To a question regarding the competition level in the World Cup, Chishti said that world’s top teams will feature in the showpiece tournament and there will be great competition among the best teams of the world.

“Keeping the high-profile status of the event in notice, we are focusing on our grey areas and trying our best to rectify the flaws in our raiding and stopping techniques,” he elaborated.
