Sports: (National team leaves to participate in Asian Power lifting Championship today)

ISLAMABAD: Members national team will leave to participate in Asian Power lifting Championship to Muscat from Lahore today (Thursday).

Secretary, Pakistan Powerlifting Federation, Mohammad Rashid Malik on Wednesday said that the Asian Power lifting Championship will play from Oct. 1 to 5, at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Muscat.

Four men and three women players will represent Pakistan. Men players namely Mahmood Heera(120 Kg), Syed Nadeem Hashmi (105 Kg ),Sohail Butt (84 Kg) and Rashhed Malik (93 Kg) while women players are: Twinkle Sohail(57Kg), Sonia Azmat (63Kg) and Shazia Kanwal Butt(Plus 84 Kg). Haider Ali and Mohammad Zahid will be Manager and Coach respectively.

The team will return from Muscat to Lahore on Oct 6, after participation in the Asian Powerlifting Championship. This is the first ever participation of Pakistan Women Powerlifting team at any international Powerlifting Championships.
