Sports: Omar Associates clinches inaugural Dr M.A Shah Women Cricket Tourney title

Karachi: Omar Associates clinched the title of the inaugural Dr M.A Shah Women Cricket Tournament after overcoming AO (ZACA) by 11 runs in the summit clash here at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first Omar Associates scored 99 -7 in 20 overs. Muneeba Ali Siddiqui batted well for the side scoring 38 off 36 balls. Huraina Sajjad scored 18 runs. Kanwal Naz captured two wickets.

In reply AO (ZACA) scored 88-8 using the allotted quoted of 20 overs. Ramin Shamim top scored for the side with 23 runs. Azra Yumna captured three wickets while Areeba Hanif took two for the victors in the match.

Kainat Imtiaz, Captain of Omar Associates received the winning trophy and cash award of Rs 50000. Rabia Shah, Captain of AO (ZACA) received the runner-up trophy and cash award of Rs 25000.
