Karachi: Sports Festival for the Deaf Children will begin from April 16 here at Park for Special People.
Administrator DMC South Afzal Zaidi on Monday announced the event will be organized in collaboration with JS Academy for Deaf.
“This event would be a part of DMC South Green Karachi Sports Festival and has been planned to be held on the direction of Provincial Minister for Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon,” Zaidi said in District South Sports Committee meeting.
“In this event for deaf children, different events would be organized,” he added.
On the occasion, AC South Asim Ali Khan, Director Sports Asif Azeem, Sports Secretary South Siraj Khan, Ameer Hussain, Iqbal Soorti, Mohammad Nasir and Kamran Munir were also present.
Zaidi added that deaf people in every aspect are equal to normal persons. “They possess abilities just like any other person”.
“With this event, we aim to introduce deaf children of our society towards healthy activities. We also want to promote the message of clean and green Karachi among all citizens,” he added.
Meanwhile, it was also decided in the meeting that DMC South Shuhda Army Public School Peshawar Junior Boxing Championship would also be organized from April 10 here at Ustaad Ali Mohammad Qambarani Boxing Stadium to pay tribute to the martyrs of the terrorist attack on APS on December 16.
More than forty bouts will be fought during the championship in which more than fifty junior boxers will be seen in action.
