Peshawar: Falling in arresting killers of Maulana Mahmud Shah Rizvi despite giving a one week deadline, Sunni Supreme Council (SSC) decided to launch protest movement against the administration of Ogi District Mansehra.
In first step, the religious clerics of SSC during a press conference here at Press Club on Thursday, informed that the protest movement would be started from Friday throughout the province, and then it would be extended to a sit-in outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly and Chief Minister House. In case of failure in apprehending the killers and sentence to them through military courts, all the organizations and political activists associated SSC would call for line of action, they said.
Alama Abbul-Fazl Mohammad Fazl Subhan Qadri, a President of SSC, said that prominent religious scholar Maulana Mohammad Rizvi affiliated with Jamia-e-Ghausia Rizvia in Tehsil Ogi, had been shot dead while going to his home from his Mosque by unknown armed men. He added that the activists of the SSC and others recorded their protest against the killers and demanded their arrest forthwith.
On the assurance of the concerned administration that the killers will be nabbed within one week, but it failed taking them into custody, therefore, the SSC decided to launch protest movement against the administration and it will continue till arrest of the killers and their trial through military court.
Leaders of other religious organizations including Pir Shamsul-Ameen Qadri, Pir Rehmat Karim Qadri, Pir Mohammad Noorul-Haq Qadri, a former federal minister, Mufti Fazl Jameel Rizvi, Ali Zaman Chishti, Mohammad Ilyas, Dr Shamsur-Rahman Shams and Maulana Agha Abdur-Rahman.
