Steps on to make community system effective: commissioner

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Wednesday said the government was taking active measures to make community system effective in the city so that it could be helpful for the development of society and resolution of its issues.

“Cooperation and discussion with communities is being promoted in this regard,” he said while addressing a seminar on community development organized by economics and sociology departments of Karachi University at Auditorium Hall.

He said youth are asset of our country and involvement of more and more youth was needed to strengthen the community. It was welcoming that youth were playing active role in development of the country and resolving issues in different departments.

The commissioner said efforts of Karachi Youth Initiative and other NGOs were laudable. Hopefully, it will help in strengthening communities and resolving civic issues.
