Strict security ordered for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

KARACHI: As many as 28,933 policemen under contingency would be deployed to ensure security for 1,115 events, 515 processions and rallies to be organized in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi in the metropolis.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali has directed officials concerned to ensure foolproof security to all gatherings on the eve of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal at district and zonal police levels. He also directed officials to strengthen cooperation with other law enforcement agencies so that the security could be ensured for life and properity.

At least 571 police mobiles and 574 motorcycles would be assigned for patrolling and snap checking in the city, ensuring better security for participants of Rabi-ul-Awal processions, rallies and other sessions in different areas of Karachi.

In West Zone, as many as 6439 police constables and officials would be deployed for 226 processions and 645 sessions, 3531 policemen would deployed for 81 processions and 82 sessions in South Zone while 18,963 policemen would be deployed for 208 processions and 388 sessions in East Zone.

All markets, shops and other buildings have been properly checked that surround the central procession routes while the bomb disposal squad had completed its sweeping/scanning at sensitive places. All SHOs have been directed to keep connected with CPO office and control rooms for compliance of any order.
