Strike observed in Naundero against Soomro’s murder

NAUNDERO: A complete shutterdown strike was observed here on Sunday against the murder of JUI-F leader Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro for the second consecutive day.

Dr Soomro was killed in Sukkur on Saturday morning by unknown armed men. The activists of JUI-F took out a large rally which marched through the main roads and reached Sukkur-Larkana bypass, where they staged a sit-in and blocked the main road.

They were joined by various social welfare, political and literary organizations. The protesters burnt tyres, chanted slogans and held a potest demonstration. They condemned the brutal act of criminals and demanded their immediate arrest.

Maulana Abdul Qudoos Panhwar, Maulana Tariq Panhwar, Maulana Ayoob Channa, Maulana Salam Dhareho, former MRD convener Hussain Bux Narejo, Sindh Graduates Association’s Lateef Kertio, Sahab Khan Shaikh and Tariq Shaikh addressed the rally.

They said: “Sindh is constantly given dead bodies but assailants should known that till one Sindhi is alive, they cannot eliminate them.” They said that Dr Soomro was a true and the brave son of the soil who always stood as rock against the decisions which were detrimental to its people and their integrity.

The leaders demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the murder of Dr Khalid Soomro. The protesters came to Naundero Sugar Mill roundabout, where they also staged a sit-in, blocking traffic for hours.
