Students are precious asset of our nation, Governor

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad said that students are precious asset of our nation. Their future can only be secured by providing quality and high standard of education.

In this regard, role of Higher Education Commission should be enhanced and strengthened so that coordination between universities should become successful and consequently, our educational institutions will be commendable throughout the world.

The provincial statuses of universities are affecting the value of degrees of our students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and hence, the future of our students will be in doldrums.

He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting regarding Higher Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and future role of Higher Education Commission here at Governor’s House on Wednesday.

The participants of the meeting were, Prof. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed (Chairman HEC Islamabad), Secretary Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prof. Dr Mansoor Ahmad Kundi (Executive Director HEC Islamabad), Vice Chancellor of University of Peshawar, Dean University of Engineering and Technology, Vice Chancellors Khyber Medical University and University of Haripur and other higher officials.

In the meeting, future role of Higher Education Commission was discussed. Governor said that there was a time when our universities have excellency in providing good quality of education and they educated foreigners as well. Furthermore, he said that such quality of education should be ensured which should be compatible throughout the world.
