Peshawar: Some two khasadar force personnel among three other were killed and 56 other civilians including women and children were injured in an allegedly suicide attack in Jamrud. Sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that an allegedly suicide attacker blew himself up in front of the political administration building of Jamrud sub division of Khyber Agency. The sources said that the target of the attacker was the vehicle of khasadar force Line Officer at the site.
Security force personnel and a huge contingent of khasadar force personnel was called on to the incident place who cordoned off the whole area and shifted the injured persons to Hayat Abad medical complex Peshawar.
The sources said that suicide bomber was trying to enter the compound of the political administration but due to security personnel deployed on the main gate ,he could not succeed and blown up himself near the vehicle of the personnel.
The governor of KP Sardar Mehtab Abbasi visited the injured personnel and vowed that authorities would launch the investigation of the suicide attack to trace the involved hands in this unpleasant incident.
No group of militants has so far claimed the responsibility for carrying out the deadly blast.
Meanwhile, the sources said that a huge number of explosive materials were defused in Khyber area of Landikotal and a bomb in Jamrud subdivision which caused anxiety among tribesmen of Landikotal and Jamrud.
