Survey: (Most Pakistani men who listened to the Imam’s sermon last Friday rated it positively: Poll)

ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 33% of those Pakistani men who listened to the prayer sermon last Friday rated it as ‘very good’. (This poll is Part 3 of a 5-part series on Friday sermons).

A nationally representative sample of adult men who listened to the Imam’s prayer sermon last Friday, from across the four provinces was asked, “If you had to rate last Friday’s prayer sermon/speech on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being ‘Not very good’ and 5 being ‘Very good’, what would you rate the sermon/speech as?” In response to this question, 33% men rated the sermon as 5 i.e. ‘very good’, 28% rated it as 4, 15% rated it as 3, 17% rated it as 2, while 3% rated it as 1 i.e. ‘not very good’ and 4% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 448 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during February 2 – February 9, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
