Survival lies in the democracy: MNA

LARKANA: We are being blamed for friendly opposition but our survival lies in the democracy. This was stated by opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah while addressing a gathering late last night at Larkana Press Club, which was organized to unveil Sindhi translation of book “Qatali Ker” written by senior journalist Suhail Warraich after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

Shah said Benazir never left democracy because it is the only hope of the people that’s why Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir sacrificed their lives for the cause of democracy which is their great message for the people.

Shah said the difference between rulers and leaders is that rulers remain busy in saving their rule and leaders remain busy in constructing future of the country and always think about the well-being of the people.

MPA Mehtab Akbar Rashidi who was the chief guest said that book “Qatil Ker” is a painful story adding a woman who came back to serve her people was given gifts of dead bodies. She said martyring BB is not the loss of a life and family but it is the loss of a hope. She said that BB will always live in hearts of the people that is why her party activists are unable to forget her.

Suhail Warraich said that Larkana has remained pillar of country’s politics for 45 years, adding without mentioning Larkana political reporting remains half in Pakistan. He said that when Mohtarma returned back she was not provided proper security due to which this incident took place which should be thoroughly probed. Journalist Zulfiqar Guramani and others also addressed the gathering.
