KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court-III (ATC-III) remanded a suspect, Waheed alias Mulla, to police custody till 26 October 2014 in an explosive materials case.
Police produced the accused before the ATC-III judge under tight security. The investigation officer told the court that the police needed his physical custody to trace his connections and other accomplices. The court accepted the police’s request and remanded the accused to police custody till 26 October with the direction to produce accused on 27 October.
According to the police, the accused was apprehended within the jurisdiction of Chakiwara police Station on 19 October. Police claimed to have seized a hand grenade and rifle from accused possession.
The case FIR no. 276/2014 was registered under Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the Chakiwara police station.
