Taj Haider criticizes judicial commission

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) Sindh chapter General Secretary, Senator Taj Haider has criticised the government on reaching an agreement on the formation of a Judicial Commission to look into the allegations of rigging levelled by the Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI).

“What unique logic. Let us violate the constitution and promulgate an ordinance and the Supreme Court shall strike it down. Further if the Court does not strike it down,” said Haider while commenting on the accord between the Government and PTI over the appointment of a Judicial Commission to look into the rigging of elections 2013.

Haider said that in a blatant show of moral bankruptcy of the government and the PTI. He said “commit a crime, but do not get caught” logic had been extended to “go on committing crime with impunity, he said, adding that terrorism and democracy cannot co-exist. He, however, said that the days of being clever were long gone.

He reminded the PTI of intra-PTI polls rigging and said that those shouting hoarse on rigging of national elections, had been accused by their own Party’s investigation commission of heavily rigging their own Party’s elections.

Who was being duped on the pretext of rigging in the polls except ourselves, opined Haider.
