Peshawar: Chairperson Prime Minister Youth Program Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that those protesting on the roads should compete in performance as now people would judge the performance to bring people in power.
Addressing cheques distribution under Prime Minister Fee Reimbursement Scheme at Governor House Peshawar , Maryam Nawaz said that instead serving the masses some forces are protesting on the roads in other province which is astonishing for her.
Without naming any party she said “ what for these forces are protesting, wither they are against the government for stopping drone attacks, or they are protesting as to why terrorists incidents in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa are minimized”. she said this is the era of performance and the forces instead protesting on the roads should compete in performance instead making hue and cry.
Not a single day has been passed when a new scheme has not been introduced for the masses and every day government is inaugurating a new electricity project to overcome the crisis but she does not understand why these people are protesting against such performance of the government, she remarked.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif , she said like father has introduced the scheme for fee reimbursement for the students of less developed areas like Balochistan, Gilgit/ Baltistan, FATA, Interior Sindh, South Punjab, Malakand, Kohistan and D.I. Khan areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“ Government would reimbursed Rs 40 thousands around 40 thousands students to the students of these areas studying in Masters, M.Phil in the Public Sector Universities of their respective area of domicile and for PhD all Public Sector Universities of Pakistan” she adding that now she would incorporate reimbursement of hostel charges for the students of Fata in this scheme.
Refuting the criticism from some corner, she said that she was not aspired of any government slot and this was the reason that she did not apply for any MNA seat or wished to become a minister but she wanted to serve the Youth so they will become strong due to which she accepted this challenge.
She thanked the people of Peshawar saying that some 16 years back she had visited Peshawar as these was odd days for her family because of the arrest of her father in a fake case. “ at that time too Peshawar honoured us and now once again people gave me a warm welcome which i will remember for the whole of my life” she said when get a warm welcome from the youth belongs to different universities of the province.
