Three food centres’ incharges suspended

KHAIRPUR: The incharges of three store centers, food department Sindh suspended Wednesday for missing of 7000 wheat bags.

Sindh government took the notice of a news item that appeared in various newspapers about missing of wheat bags from the food department Khairpur district. It sent a team of officials for an inquiry. After inquiry, the team submitted a report that over 7000 wheat bags are missing from three centers, including Drib Mehar Shah, Gambat and Kotdiji.

The secretary food department ordered suspension of three incharges of these centres including Assistant Food Controller Drib Mehar Shah Ali Hassan Sangi, Assistant Food Controller Kotdiji Ali Mohammad Meerjat and Food Supervisor Gambat Sayed Mazhar Ali Shah.

It is reported that the government purchased 1.6 million bags of wheat from district Khairpur last year in which 500,000 bags are still available. The government has fixed 1.1 million bags procurement target this year.
