Three TTP activists killed in crossfire

Ahmedpur East: Three Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) activists were killed during crossfire with police in Mauza Bakhri Uchsharif on Saturday. However, Uchsharif police claimed that they were killed in the firing of their own accomplices.

According to details, TTP activists Qari Nazeer Ahmed, Ehsan and Ghulam Hassan were in the custody of Naushera Jadid police station for investigation purpose. Their six unknown armed accomplices stormed the police station last night at 11.30 pm and got them freed.

On receiving information , patrolling police parties started chasing TTP activists, as a result, Uchsharif police succeeded in encircling them in Maza Bakhri where crossfire occurred between the police and TTP men during which all three escaped TTP activists were killed. , Uchsharif police claimed that they were killed in the firing of their own accomplices.

DPO Bahawalpur Sarfraz Ahmed Falki and DSP Ahmedpur East Shafqat Atta rushed to the scene and appreciated Uchsharif police.

It is pertinent to mention here that the three TTP activists had shot dead a police constable Haibat Khan on 5th July 2014 outside Tankiwali Masjid Uchsharif where  he was performing security  duty during Traveeh prayers.

SHO Uchsharif police Azhar Javed Chaudhry told newsmen that the bodies of all three TTP activists were shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur for autopsies. A case against their six unknown accomplices has been registered under sections 302, 324,148, 149, 186, 353 and 412 PPC.

He further informed that dead TTP activist Qari Nazir Ahmed belonged to Alipur located in Muzzafar Garh district, while Ehsan and Ghulam Hassan hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan.
