KARACHI: The funeral prayer of constable Syed Hussain Shah was offered in the metropolis on Monday.
It was attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, senior police officers and a large number of victims relatives, friends and associates. The special squad of police presented the guard of honor to the martyred cop.
The constable was killed when unknown armed men opened fire on him within the limits of Boat Basin police station on 4 April. The victim had received severe bullet injuries and was shifted to a nearer hospital where he breathed his last.
IGP Jamali condoled with martyr’s family and announced to give government jobs to two members of the victim family. He also announced that Sindh police would continue to pay the salary to Hussain’s family till retirement age.
Jamali vowed to make targeted operation more effective and directed to make intelligence collection more effective, specially in crime-affected areas of the city.
