ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the United International Group Mian Shahid has said that efforts and Army and Rangers have infused confidence in disappointed masses which was essential for national development.
Army has ensured peace across the country which has improved confidence of masses and the business community which was more important than IMF loans and foreign grants, he said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
He said the decisions and daring steps of COAS Gen. Raheel Sharif have ignited a hope among masses while Pakistan is not seen as a failing state by other countries. Peace and development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata is high on the agenda of Gen. Raheel which is evident from his repeated visits and overnight stay at Waziristan.
He said that despite propaganda by enemy states and their agents in Pakistan, the sacrifices of Army has boosted its rating to new heights which was necessary for integrity of Pakistan.
He said the writ of state stands restored to a great extent in Balochistan where a sound political cum military strategy has broken the back of foreign sponsored insurgency. What was unimaginable few years ago is now becoming a reality, he added.
He said people are convinced that COAS will not succumb to any foreign or internal political pressure to slow down the operation or spare the corrupt to recover stolen funds.
