ISLAMABAD: Finland played an important role to eliminate poverty through their various welfare programmes in Pakistan. Everyone is aware about their relief activities during the natural disasters.
This was stated by Abdul Rahim Janoo, Senior Vice President of FPCCI on occasion of presiding over a seminar “Doing business with Finland” at the Federation House, Karachi, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by S.M Muneer, Parton In Chief, Vice Presidents FPCCI Waseem Vohra and Shahnawaz Ishtiaq, Ms. Sadia Khan Honorary Consul General Finland, and other numerous members of business community.
He said that “Doing Business with Finland” seminar is very important to discuss the key issues of trade and economic cooperation and enhance the possibilities of joint ventures and investment activities with Finland.
He added that Pakistan considers Finland an important diplomatic & trade partner and It is good to see that the business community of both countries understand their market demands and potentials and would take efforts to reduce the communication gap.
He said the business community of Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Finland, adding that there are great potentials for Finland and Pakistan to further enhance the multifaceted cooperation, such as in the areas of trade and investment, IT and software industry, agriculture, culture and education.
Abdul Rahim Janoo said that FPCCI is committed to enhancing exceptional trade relations of Pakistan with all countries including Finland. He said the FPCCI is playing key role to attract the business community of Pakistan towards Finland.
He said both countries have great opportunities to enhance their economic cooperation through B2B Meetings, organizing exhibitions and exchanging business delegations. The regular travelling of businessmen is also an important feature for both countries as it would improve relationship, he added.
While sharing his views, Ambassador Rauli Suikkanen, Roving Ambassador of Finland said that Finland is supported Pakistan in getting GSP Plus. He said the trade between Finland in Pakistan has increased in the last years.
He appreciated the FPCCI for presenting positive picture of Pakistan pertaining to trade and investment. He assured his full support and briefed the forum about the business opportunities in Finland. On this occasion, the comprehensive presentation was also given about “Doing business with Finland”.
