Traffic awareness raising seminar held

SIALKOT: The speakers of awareness-raising traffic seminar have stressed the need of making all out sincere collective and individual efforts to spread maximum awareness about the implementation on traffic rules and road safety, saying that the road safety was vital for saving our lives and especially the lives of the others travelling on the roads.

City Traffic Police Sialkot organized this awareness-raising seminar, in which a large number the people participated.

MPA Mansha Ullah Butt asked the traffic police officials to continue visiting the government colleges in Sialkot for educating the students, besides, issuing them the learners’ traffic licenses on the spot there in their colleges.

MPA Ch. Mohammad Ikram said that the people should be educated and sensitized about the importance of implementation on traffic rules for ensuring the road safety to save the precious lives.

President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fazal Jillani in his speech urged all the road users to come forward to play their pivotal role to educate people about the traffic rules.

Addressing the participants, a prominent human rights activist Khawaja Awais Mushtaq Advocate (President Sialkot District Bar Association-DBA) pledged active role of the local lawyers in promoting awareness about the implementation on the traffic rules to ensure safety on the roads.

On this occasion, the participants pledged to make all out sincere collective and individual efforts to ensure road safety through curbing the menace of one-wheeling on motorcycles, besides, promoting the sense of abiding the traffic rules and laws.

They also lauded the efforts and performance of the traffic police officials including DSP Traffic Sialkot Mohammad Waseem Akhtar, sub inspector Anees Anjum Cheema and others for ensuring the implementation on traffic rules in Sialkot district.

On this occasion, DSP Traffic Mohammad Waseem Akhtar told the newsmen here that the traffic police have already launched traffic education programme in all the government and private educational institutions in Sialkot district for promoting the sense of implementing the traffic rules.

He said that the senior officials of traffic police were giving the lectures to all the male and female students and their teachers in the summer camps being held all the government and private schools and colleges, advising them to obey the traffic rules, which would also be helpful in ensuring the road safety, which could also save the lives of the others travelling on the roads.

Later, the participants took out a walk to promote awareness about the implantation on the traffic rules. Walk began from congested Kashmir Road and ended at Lorry Adda Sialkot.
