Traffic police introduce TTMS in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police Department has introduced Traffic Ticketing Management System (TTMS) in collaboration with a private mobile network company that could minimize the traffic law violation as well as will ensure a proper punishment system for the traffic law violators in the metropolis.

Talking to PPI, DIG Traffic Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh said that under the TTMS they would be able to challan a driver on the spot if he or she is found violating the traffic rule, via electronic devices which will be used by traffic challan officers and cops.

The driver charged for violating the traffic rule could be able to pay the fine fees in many ways through banks, easy paisa or at at traffic sections booths established outside the section offices in the city.

DIG Shaikh said this system could ensure transparency and minimize the corruption from traffic police department.

Another valuable function of this system is that it could save the data of violator as well as the nature of violation so that next time when same person is re-challaned, he or she could be warned of avoiding yet another violation; otherwise, stern action could be taken against him/her.

Dr Amir said this system will be functional in the city from January 1, 2016.
