KARACHI: President Karachi Transport Action Committee Mohammad Ashraf on Thursday demanded of government to halt CNG load-shedding during Ramazan in order to avoid citizens from fatigue they had to bear in terms of thin transport during gas closure.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ashraf said that the government should direct Sui Southern Gas Company to not issue CNG closure schedule during Ramazan.
He said that there is a shortage of public transport in the city and in case of gas closure schedule, the transporters were forced to park their vehicles in garages. “We are demanding this facility for the benefit of people during Ramazan,” he said adding that the provincial government should also bring its CNG buses on roads in order to facilitate people.
He also demanded of traffic police officials to devise a mechanism for Ramazan so that massive traffic jams could be avoided during peak time in the holy month.
