Two cops including three killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Two policemen including three persons were killed and three others injured in different violence incidents here on Sunday.

A head constable, Ghulam Rasool, 50, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Lyari 36-B area, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Surjani Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

In another incident, a man, identified as Azhar Jafri, 48, resident of Ghazi Town Malir designated as ASI, was shot dead by unknown gunmen near Airport traffic signal. The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

The police sources said the murder seemed to be the result of personal enmity.

Yet in another incident, an unknown woman, aged about 30, was gunned down while a youth, Talat Hussain, shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Murad Goth, Malir. The deceased and injured were brought to the JPMC.

In another incident, rescue team found two days old and tortured body of one, Abdul Khaliq, 40, son of Wazir Mohammad, from Ittehad Town area which was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a man, Asim, 40, son of Mansoor Ali, was found strangulated to death from a house near Ansar Burney Trust on MA Jinnah Road. The body was brought to CHK for an autopsy.

A youth, Adeel, 26, son of Akhtar, resident of Korangi Town, was shot and injured by unknown assailants near Hussaini Roundabout, Bilal Colony, Korangi area. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Fahim, 30 son of Naeem, resident of Baldia, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Street No 4, Yousuf Goth. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.
