Two die, four injured in separate incidents

KARACHI: Two persons, including a woman, died and four others injured in different incidents in the metropolis on Monday.

Rescue sources said a woman, Salma Lakhani, 50, wife of Mohammad Arif Lakhani, a resident of Gizri, died of heart attack near Hyper Star Shopping Mall in Clifton. The body was shifted to morgue after completing the legal formalities.

A youth, Aqil, 22, son of Ali Asghar, drowned into sea in Hawkes Bay area. Police handed over the body to heirs after medico-legal formalities. The deceased was laid to rest in Mewa Shah graveyard.

A cop, ASI Habib, 38, was injured in a road accident on Native Jetty Bridge. He was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

In another incident, a youth, Qamar, 24, was injured when a speeding vehicle hit him in Baldia No. 3. He was brought to CHK for treatment.

Yet in another road mishap, two youth, Shah Jahan, 16, son of Shah Noor and Mehboob, aged about 20, residents of Mehran Town Korangi, were injured when a speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle on Jam Sadiq Bridge, Korangi. They were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
