Two killed, eight injured in road mishaps

KARACHI: Two persons were killed and eight others were injured in separate road mishaps in the city on Tuesday.

Asghar, 53, son of Mohammad Saddiqui, was killed when a fast moving train hit him in Malir Halt. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, a mini bus overturned at Allah Wali Chowrangi in Tariq road area in which one unidentified person, aged about 30, was killed while six others Bilal, 20, son of Nooruddin, Mureed, 18, son of Saleem, Nadim, 45, son of Qasim, Naseeb, 40, son of Noor, Anjuman, 40, son of Wazeer Gul and one unidentified person, aged about 40, were injured.

The body and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy and treatment.

According to sources, the incident occurred due to over speeding.

Yet in another incident, Abdul Raheem, 33, son of Mohammad Din, resident of Surjani town, was injured when he fell from a truck while loading gas cylinder. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Meanwhile, Asif, 15, son of Naseem, resident of Punjab chowrangi, was injured when a speeding vehicle hit him in Punjab chowrangi. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
