Two killed, nine injured in road mishap in Larkana

LARKANA: Two persons, including a minor boy, were killed and nine others injured in a road accident within the limits of Kanga police station near here on Tuesday.

The accident occurred near Larkana-Miro Khan bypass between a passenger wagon and a dumper. Driver of the wagon Manzoor Chandio also died along with one-year boy, son of Nazir Chandio. The injured include 45-year Ali Murad Kori, 65-year Roshan Ali Jogi, 60-year Nek Mohammad Chandio, two-year Mazhar Kori, 26-year Abdul Rashid Chandio, 27-year Jeejan, wife of Abdul Latif Chandio; 25-year Heer, wife of Rasheed Chandio; 22-year Ghulam Fatima, daughter of Mehboob Chandio; and 23-year Fateh Mohammad Chandio. According to the passengers who remained safe, the wagon was coming to Larkana from Miro Khan and the dumper was taking a turn to Miro Khan road on the roundabout.

The wagon driver gave a signal to the dumper driver to slow down or stop, but due to high speed, he did not responded as a result, the dumper collided with the wagon due to which the passengers started crying for help. The ambulances of Chandka Hospital and charitable organization Edhi rushed to the spot and shifted all the injured to the Casualty of the Chandka Medical College Hospital where emergency was already declared. The incharge Medical Superintendent Dr. Murteza Soomro and his team members also supervised the treatment process. Two bodied were shifted to the mortuary for fulfilling the legal requirements. No case was filed till filing of this report.
