Two members of ‘white Corolla gang’ get 45-year imprisonment

KARACHI: Additional District & Sessions court on Tuesday sentenced two men belonging to “white Corolla gang” 45-year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 75,000 in several cases pertaining to rape and robberies.

The convicts, Mohammad Ali Hajano and Umair were arrested in 2009 after several cases were registered against them in many police stations of South Zone of Karachi.

As many as 35 cases were registered against them pertaining to robbery, attempted murder, outrage the modesty of women at Darakhshan, Clifton, Defence, Boat Basin and Gizri police stations. However, they were acquitted in many cases due to lack of evidences against them.

Additional District & Sessions Judge South pronounced the verdict after recording evidences, witnesses’ statements and hearing arguments from both sides. The judge awarded 45-years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 75,000 to both after founding them guilty in three cases.

“White Corolla gang” had terrorized the Karachiites especially the citizens of its posh areas like Clifton and Defence Housing Authority from the year 2008 to 2009. The convicts used to came in white Toyota Corolla Car mostly in night hours for mugging.
