Two minors died of cholera at Pasid Khel village in Landikotal.

Peshawar: The local sources and health official on Monday said that two children died of cholera disease in the remote area of Landikotal subdivision on Monday.

The cholera epidemic has broken out in Loy-Shalman, Pasid khel Torkham and Khyber areas of the sub division of Landikotal tehsil. The sources added that the disease claimed two lives in the last two days in Pasid khel and Charbagh areas.

The dead children were identified as Marwah,3, daughter of Noor Bacha of Charbagh village and Qasim,2, son of Taweez Gul residents of Pasaid Khel village. The villages are said to be the backward areas of Landikotal sub division and the people of the areas are mostly poor and lack basic life facility.

The health staff at agency headquarter hospital, when contacted by the media persons, has confirmed the death and a doctor said that two minors died of the cholera disease. The health official said that that the reason behind the disease was the unhygienic food and water and poor sanitation system in those areas.

Furthermore the health staff of the hospital advised the locals to wash their hands frequently before and after meal and give their children with hygienic and clean food. They also said that the area people should drink and give their children clean and boiled water through which such a disease can be avoided.
