Two murder accused sent on physical remand

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday handed over two suspects to police on 10-day physical remand in a double-murder case.

The Garden police produced Mohammad Arshad alias Cotton and Faisal Javed alias Mama before the administrative judge of ATC, Justice Mohammad Farooq Shah amid tight security.

According to police, the suspects were involved in killing Tauseef Ali and Mohammad Arif within the limits of Garden police stations in August 2014. The other accused namely Ikhlas, Wajid, Adnan and Waqas are still absconding.

The investigation officer requested the court remand the accused in police’s custody as they are required for interrogation. While accepting IO’s request the judge handed over the suspects to police on physical remand for 10 days.

The case FIR 158/2014 was registered at Garden police station under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistan Penal Code read with section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
