Tycoon Malik Riaz donates Rs10mn to KPC

Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has announced Rs10million donation to Karachi Press Club (KPC) on the behalf of business tycoon Malik Riaz.

During his visit to Karachi Press Club here on Wednesday, Governor Sindh thanked to KPC management for inviting him at Press Club.

He assured to resolve all f problems of journalists including their issues regarding to benefits, flats, health insurance and Hawks bay plotting scheme immediately.

He further said the next action will be to get approved a grant for the KPC at government level. He gave the example of increased funds of Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi by him, whose funds was increased from Rs10,000 to Rs10million.

He lauded the journalists, photographers, cameramen and media worker on their hard work with impartiality. He said the Karachi Press Club keeps a distinguished identification in Pakistan as it has contributed a lot in developing the country.

He was awarded a certificate of life-time membership of the Karachi Press Club, and presented traditional gift of Sindh’s Ajarak.

Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jameeli, General Secretary A.H Khanzada also praised governor’s efforts and cooperation.

Meanwhile, the governor met the special people who were sitting outside the Press Club and assured them to resolve their problems.
